Section 8.

Section 8. Theory, Research, and Innovation in Library Science

(library and information science, research practices, innovation, and international experience of transformation in the era of artificial intelligence and digital transformation)

The section is dedicated to the development of library and information science as the scientific foundation for the transformation of modern university libraries. In the context of rapid technological change, the spread of artificial intelligence, and new models of scholarly communication, research approaches, evidence-based practices, and innovative solutions are becoming increasingly important in shaping the future of library activities.

Special attention is given to:

  • modern theoretical approaches in library and information science and library research;
  • studying the transformation of libraries in the context of digitalization, Open Science, and AI;
  • innovative models of library services, management, and interaction with the academic community;
  • the use of analytics, bibliometrics, and evidence-based practices to evaluate library effectiveness;
  • international experience in reforming university libraries, adapting best practices, and intercultural cooperation;
  • the development of new scientific approaches to the role of the library as a strategic element of the university’s research and educational infrastructure.

The section aims to discuss the library as both an object of scientific research and a space for innovation, where theory, practice, and international experience are combined to create new models for the development of academic libraries.
